The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Bulgarian Levski Sofia as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Levski Sofia smashed 5th ranked Montenegrin Mornar Bar at home 92-67. The game was mostly controlled by Levski Sofia. Mornar Bar managed to win second period 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Levski Sofia looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Dimitar Dimitrov (202-F-93, agency: Interperformances) who scored 25 points and 4 assists. Center Nikolay Varbanov (210-85, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 17 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian forward Nikola Rondovic (207-91, agency: Interperformances) who recorded 17 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Levski Sofia have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Mornar Bar lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with seven games lost. Mornar Bar will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Levski Sofia will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Galil Gilboa in Rosh Pina.
Bottom-ranked Serbian OKK Beograd managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time they edged sixth-ranked Bulgarian Rilski Sportist 83-82. And what about a second win in a row after ...five consecutive loses. It was a good game for power forward Milos Pavlovic (210-84, agency: BeoExcell) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Aleksej Nesovic contributed with 16 points, 7 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Serbian guard Branko Mirkovic (190-82, agency: Global Sports Plaza) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists for Rilski Sportist. OKK Beograd maintains tenth place with 2-5 record. Rilski Sportist at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. OKK Beograd will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rilski Sportist will play at home against Kavala and hopes to get back on the winning track.

In the last two games of round 9 Mornar Bar was crushed by Galil Gilboa in Rosh Pina 81-57. Kavala beat Teodo Tivat at home 89-85.

Galil Gilboa - Mornar Bar 81-57

There was no surprise in Rosh Pina where 5th ranked Montenegrin Mornar Bar (1-7) was crushed by second ranked Israeli Galil Gilboa (5-2) 81-57. The game without a history. Galil Gilboa led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Mornar Bar's 24. Galil Gilboa players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Mornar Bar's players. It was a good game for American guard Rakim Sanders (193-89, college: Fairfield) who led his team to a victory with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Amit Simhon (197-89, agency: Ronsport) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Serbian forward Nikola Rondovic (207-91, agency: Interperformances) answered with 15 points and center Vukota Pavic (203-93) added 6 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Mornar Bar. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Galil Gilboa maintains second place with 5-2 record having just -1 point less than leader Levski Sofia. Mornar Bar lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with seven games lost. Galil Gilboa will play against league's leader Levski Sofia at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mornar Bar will have a break next round.

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Greek Kavala (4-3) defeated at home 6th ranked Montenegrin Teodo Tivat (4-3) 89-85. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Kavala dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Teodo Tivat's 34. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a good game for American point guard Anthony Grundy (189-79, college: N.Carolina St.) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 8 assists. His fellow American import forward William Coleman (206-88, college: Memphis) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Center Aleksandar Radulovic (207-84) answered with 23 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Marko Mijovic (188-87) added 14 points and 7 assists in the effort for Teodo Tivat. Five Kavala and four Teodo Tivat players scored in double figures. Kavala moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Teodo Tivat. Teodo Tivat lost third consecutive game. Kavala will play against Rilski Sportist (#7) in Samokov in the next round. Teodo Tivat will have a break next round.
