Montenegrin Teodo Tivat (#6) forced the game against Bulgarian Levski Sofia (#1) into an overtime, but lost by eight points 82-90 on Wednesday night. It was a great evening for Chavdar Kostov who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 5 assists. Levski Sofia's coach Konstantin Papazov used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Levski Sofia have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group C with 5-2 record. Teodo Tivat lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with five games lost. Levski Sofia will face Kavala (#5) at home in the next round. Teodo Tivat will play against the league's second-placed Galil Gilboa in Rosh Pina.

The most impressive stats of the last round was 28 points and 12 rebounds by Nikola Jeftic of OKK Beograd.

Rilski Sportist - Galil Gilboa 79-104

Rather expected game in Samokov where 4th placed Bulgarian Rilski Sportist (3-4) was crushed by second ranked Israeli Galil Gilboa (5-3) 104-79 on Thursday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Galil Gilboa dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Rilski Sportist's 38. They outrebounded Rilski Sportist 46-29 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American guard Rakim Sanders (193-89, college: Fairfield) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Shawn Taggart (207-85, college: Memphis) helped adding 17 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Serbian guard Branko Mirkovic (190-82, agency: Global Sports Plaza) with 15 points and 8 assists and American point guard Terry Smith (185-86, college: Mercyhurst) scored 15 points. Five Galil Gilboa and four Rilski Sportist players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Galil Gilboa have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place in Group C with 5-3 record having just -1 point less than leader Levski Sofia. Rilski Sportist at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Galil Gilboa will face bottom-ranked Teodo Tivat (#6) on the road in the next round. Rilski Sportist will play against Kumanovo 2009 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Levski Sofia had a 32-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Teodo Tivat was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Chavdar Kostov (195-88, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 5 assists. Rather predictable result when second ranked Israeli Galil Gilboa (5-3) smashed on the road 5th ranked Greek Kavala (3-5) 94-75 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Galil Gilboa. Kavala was better in third quarter 26-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Galil Gilboa dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Kavala's 18. It was a great shooting night for Galil Gilboa especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Mitchell Watt (208-89, college: Buffalo) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import guard Jamar Smith (191-87, college: S.Indiana, agency: KMG Sports Management) helped adding 15 points and 6 assists. Galil Gilboa's coach Lior Lubin allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Greek Kavala (3-5) was edged on the road by fifth ranked FYR Macedonian Kumanovo 2009 (4-3) 94-92 on Wednesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Kavala won fourth quarter 28-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kumanovo 2009 made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for guard Aleksandar Kostoski (186-88, agency: Global Sports Plaza) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. OKK Beograd will play on the road against the league's second-placed Djuro Djakovic in Slavonski Brod and hopes to get finally their first victory.
