There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Second Stage in Baltic League.

There was a change at the Baltic League leadership position after last games. Round 2 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Belarusian Minsk-2006 (2-2). They were defeated by second ranked Lithuanian Lemminkainen (2-1) 84-69 on Wednesday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Minsk-2006. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Lemminkainen. Minsk-2006 managed to win third quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game, while Minsk-2006 only scored seven points from the stripe. Point guard Gabriele Gutkauskaite (172-90) scored 19 points to lead the charge for the winners and Monika Grigalauskyte (190-92) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Power forward Volha Istseliatsova (189-88) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds. Lemminkainen keeps a position of league leader, which they share with VICI-Aistes. Minsk-2006 at the other side dropped to the third place with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Gorizont. Minsk-2006 will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Lemminkainen will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked TTT Riga on the road.
The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Olimpia GrGAU (1-1) in Minsk. Visitors were defeated by Gorizont (2-0) 70-66. It was a key game for the top position in the league as both teams had the same 1-0 record before this meeting. Guard Natalia Anufryienka (174-85, agency: LBM Management) notched 16 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and Aleksandra Khomenchuk supported her with 7 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Even a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds by Russian-Ukrainian center Lyubov Alyoshkina (203-81) did not help to save the game for Olimpia GrGAU. Defending Belarusian champion maintains first position with 2-0 record. Olimpia GrGAU at the other side keeps the second place with one game lost. Gorizont will play against Tim-Scuf (#4) in Kyiv in the next round. Olimpia GrGAU will have a break next round.

The best player for the winners was Volha Istseliatsova who had a double-double by scoring 29 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Ieva Krastina produced 27 points and 5 assists for the guests. TTT Riga's coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Despite that victory Minsk-2006 went down to third position due to points difference. TTT Riga lost third consecutive game. Defending Latvian champion keeps the fourth place with three games lost. Minsk-2006 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. TTT Riga will play against the league's leader Lemminkainen (#1) in Klaipeda.

Tatsiana Likhtarovich orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 8 assists. TTT Riga's coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Defending Lithuanian champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Lemminkainen. TTT Riga lost third consecutive game. Defending Latvian champion keeps the fourth place with three games lost. VICI-Aistes will have a break next round. TTT Riga will play at home against the league's leader Lemminkainen (#1) in Klaipeda.

The most impressive stats of the last round was 34 points (!!!), 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals by Mirjam Nikolai of KK Tallina U..

The game between Top Four teams took place in Minsk. First ranked Belarusian host Minsk-2006 (2-2) defeated one of their biggest challengers Latvian TTT Riga (1-3) 81-72. TTT Riga trailed by 16 points after 3 quarters before a 29-22 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 72-81 at the end of the game. Minsk-2006 made 25-of-27 free shots (92.6 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was power forward Volha Istseliatsova (189-88) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Forward Viktoryia Pantsiukh (185-87) chipped in 23 points (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!). The game between Top Four teams took place in Riga. 4th ranked Latvian host TTT Riga (1-3) lost to third ranked Lithuanian VICI-Aistes (2-1) 86-75. The game was mostly controlled by VICI-Aistes. TTT Riga was better in fourth quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded TTT Riga 36-19 including a 25-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for VICI-Aistes especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. Belarusian swingman Tatsiana Likhtarovich (179-88, agency: LBM Management) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 8 assists. Latvian power forward Aija Putnina (192-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four VICI-Aistes players scored in double figures. Swingman Ieva Krastina (175-90, agency: LBM Management) replied with 27 points and 7 assists and forward Sabine Dukate (174-93) added 18 points in the effort for TTT Riga. Gorizont - Olimpia 70-66

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Olimpia GrGAU (1-1) in Minsk. Visitors were defeated by Gorizont (2-0) 70-66. It was a key game for the top position in the league as both teams had the same 1-0 record before this meeting. It looked good early as Olimpia GrGAU took an 5-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Gorizont had a 24-18 second period charge getting the lead and Olimpia GrGAU was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 66-70. Gorizont made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Olimpia GrGAU turnovers and outrebounded them 38-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. The most exciting game of round 7 in the Baltic League took place in Grodno. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Ukrainian Interkhim (1-3) to fourth ranked Belarusian Olimpia GrGAU (2-4) 87-84 on Saturday evening.
