Baltic League round 3 (Second Stage) best performance: Ieva Krastina - Mar 10, 2012

Swingman Ieva Krastina (175-G/F-90, agency: LBM Management) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for TTT Riga, receiving a Player of the Week award for round 3 (Second Stage).
The 21-year old player had a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds, while her team beat Lemminkainen (#2, 2-2) 74-60. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. TTT Riga maintains the 4th position in Baltic League . TTT Riga is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. But it was their 3rd lost game this season out of 5 games. In the team's last game Krastina had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 8 attempts. She turned to be TTT Riga's top player in her first season with the team. Ieva Krastina has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (4th best: 18.9ppg), assists (2nd best: 4.6apg) and averages impressive 3.2spg.

The second best player in last round's games was 22-year old Russian Aleksandra Khomenchuk (200-C-89) of Gorizont. Khomenchuk had a very good evening with a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds. Of course she lead Gorizont to another comfortable win outscoring Tim-Scuf (0-3) 92-67. A very good start of the Second Stage for her team, which won so far all 3 games without any defeat. Khomenchuk is a newcomer at Gorizont, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Gorizont's star - guard Natalia Anufryienka (174-G-85, agency: LBM Management). Anufryienka showcased her all-around game by recording 27 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in the last round. She was another key player of Gorizont, helping her team with a 92-67 easy win against #-3 ranked Tim-Scuf in a game of the week. Gorizont started extremely well this Second Stage. They recorded 3 victories without losing a single game. Anufryienka turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Anufryienka has a very solid season. In 3 games in Baltic League she scored 22.0ppg.

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Baltic League round 7 best performance: Kristina Karp - 2 days ago

Center Kristina Karp (196-C-98) put on an amazing game in the last round for Interkhim, receiving a Player of the Week award for round 7. The 18-year old player had a double-double of 24 points and 19 rebounds, while her team Interkhim moved-up to the 4th position in their group in Baltic League group B. Round 7: Olimpia GrGAU defeats Interkhim in the closest game of the week - 12 days ago

The most exciting game of round 7 in the Baltic League took place in Grodno. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Ukrainian Interkhim (1-3) to fourth ranked Belarusian Olimpia GrGAU (2-4) 87-84 on Saturday evening. Sema's 14 points and 7 rebounds give her Player of the Week award - 16 days ago

20-year old center Tatiana Sema (193-C-96) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's best team Dynamo-Farm and receives a Player of the Week award for round 6. She had the game-high 14 points adding seven rebounds and four assists for Dynamo-Farm in her team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Interkhim (#4, 0-2) with 40-point margin 97-57.
