Ukrainian Victoria Shmatova (170-G-87) had an amazing evening in the last round for Olimpia (they play in D) and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 4 (Second Stage).
The 24-year old guard had the game-high 25 points adding five rebounds for Olimpia as her team lost the game against the league's best team Gorizont (#-6, 4-0) 64-72. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Olimpia is placed at -4th position in Baltic League . Olimpia is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. But it was their 2nd lost game this season out of 3 games. In the team's last game Shmatova had a remarkable 54.5% from 2-point range. It's her second year at Olimpia and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Victoria Shmatova averages this season 11.3ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young center Hanna Kalenta (187-C-94) of Berezina. Kalenta impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Berezina lost that game 57-69 to slightly higher-ranked Tim-Scuf (#-5, 2-3). Despite lost game Berezina moved up to -3th position in the standings. 2 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Kalenta is one of the most experienced players at Berezina and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.3ppg (#6). She also registered 7.0 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Russian Aleksandra Khomenchuk (200-C-89) of Gorizont (#-6). Khomenchuk scored 16 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Gorizont, leading her team to a 72-64 win against #-4 ranked Olimpia in a game of the week. Gorizont started extremely well this Second Stage. They recorded 4 victories without losing a single game. Khomenchuk turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Khomenchuk has a very solid season. In 4 games in Baltic League she scored 13.0ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Krystyna Matsko (182-F-91) of Tim-Scuf - 20 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Anzela Duboiyskaja (187-F-73) of Berezina - 10 points and 9 rebounds
6. Vita Kuktiene (186-F-80) of VICI-Aistes - 19 points and 3 rebounds

10. Gabriele Gutkauskaite (172-PG-90) of Lemminkainen - 14 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
