There will be only one (last) round of the Second Stage in Baltic League.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Lithuanian VICI-Aistes (3-2) on the court of fourth ranked Belarusian Minsk-2006 on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by Minsk-2006 72-66. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of VICI-Aistes. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. VICI-Aistes were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Minsk-2006 made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. It was a good game for power forward Volha Istseliatsova (189-88) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Russian forward Galina Ignatovich (185-81) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Canadian guard Courtnay Pilypaitis (185-88, college: Vermont) replied with 22 points and 5 rebounds for VICI-Aistes. VICI-Aistes' coach Mantas Sernius rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Minsk-2006 (3-3) moved-up to second place, which they share with TTT Riga. Defending Lithuanian champion VICI-Aistes still keep top position with two games lost. Minsk-2006 is looking forward to face Lemminkainen (#4) in Klaipeda in the next round. VICI-Aistes will play at home against TTT Riga and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
One of the most interesting games of round 6 was a derby match between two teams from Belarus. The game took place in Minsk where top-ranked Gorizont won against visiting Berezina-RCOR (0-6) 76-71. Guard Sviatlana Valko (175-89) scored 15 points and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Viktoriya Hasper chipped in 10 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Gorizont's coach Anatoly Buyalskiy allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was forward Galina Shylovich (182-91) with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Undefeated Gorizont (6-0) have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending Belarusian champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 6 victories in a row. Berezina-RCOR at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
An interesting game for Belarusian Olimpia GrGAU (4-2) which played road game in Kyiv against one of their biggest challengers Ukrainian Tim-Scuf (2-4). Second ranked Olimpia GrGAU had an easy win 94-73. Katsiaryna Kashlei notched 18 points and 9 assists to lead the effort. Olimpia GrGAU's coach Aliaksandr Shimkovyak felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 18 points and 7 rebounds by Nataliya Gavryliuk did not help to save the game for Tim-Scuf. Olimpia GrGAU maintains second position with 4-2 record having just -10 point less than leader Gorizont. Tim-Scuf lost fourth consecutive game. Defending Ukrainian champion keeps the third place with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

The most impressive performance of 6th round was 32 points and 8 rebounds by Olga Maznichenko of Tim-Scuf.


Tim-Scuf - Olimpia 73-94

An interesting game for Belarusian Olimpia GrGAU (4-2) which played road game in Kyiv against one of their biggest challengers Ukrainian Tim-Scuf (2-4). Second ranked Olimpia GrGAU had an easy win 94-73. Tim-Scuf was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 34-11 charge of Olimpia GrGAU, which allowed them to win the game. They made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Olimpia GrGAU forced 19 Tim-Scuf turnovers. Point guard Katsiaryna Kashlei (171-90) notched 18 points and 9 assists to lead the effort and Russian-Ukrainian center Lyubov Alyoshkina (203-81) supported her with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Olimpia GrGAU's coach Aliaksandr Shimkovyak felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 18 points and 7 rebounds by forward Nataliya Gavryliuk (178-90) did not help to save the game for Tim-Scuf. Forward Olga Maznichenko (187-91, agency: LBM Management) added 16 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Olimpia GrGAU maintains second position with 4-2 record having just -10 point less than leader Gorizont. Tim-Scuf lost fourth consecutive game. Rapla KK - Olimpia 68-72 Hosts were defeated by Belarusian Olimpia GrGAU (3-4) 72-68. It was a key game for the top position in the league.
