Forward Laimonas Kisielius (203-F-85) had an amazing evening in the last round for Juventus, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 6. The 27-year old player was the main contributor (22 points, eight rebounds and three assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat TU/Rock (#1, 5-1) 99-87. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Juventus is placed at 3rd position in Baltic League . They would have been even better if they hadn't lost two games earlier this season. Juventus will need more victories to improve their 3-2 record. In the team's last game Kisielius had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Juventus' top player in his first season with the team. Laimonas Kisielius averages this season 15.0ppg.
The second best player in last round's games was -year old Nigerian Ike Okoye (206-F) of Tln Kalev. Okoye had a very good evening with a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds. It was enough for Tln Kalev to edge slightly higher-ranked Tarvas (#5, 1-3) in overtime 79-73. Tln Kalev's 6th position in the standings has not changed. 4 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Tln Kalev managed to get this year. Okoye is a newcomer at Tln Kalev, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.6ppg (#2). He also registered 9.8 boards per game.
Third on the list of top players last round was Senegalese center Bamba Fall (217-C-86) of Kalev/Cramo (#3). Fall scored 12 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Kalev/Cramo, leading his team to a 80-70 win against Parnu (#5, 0-2). Kalev/Cramo has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Fall also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Fall as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.
Other top performing players last week: 4. Justin Ingram (188-PG-85) of TU/Rock - 27 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists 5. Reimo Tamm (185-PG-84) of Tarvas - 16 points and 10 rebounds 6. Rain Raadik (208-C-89) of Parnu - 12 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists 7. Nerijus Varnelis (201-F-78) of Juventus - 17 points and 6 rebounds 8. Donald Sims (185-PG-87) of Ventspils - 11 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists 9. Marc Campbell (180-G-86) of Tln Kalev - 20 points, 2 rebounds and 8 assists 10. Gediminas Orelikas (200-G/F-90) of Rudupis - 16 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
