28-year old point guard Reimo Tamm (185-PG-84) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Tarvas and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 8.
He had the game-high 27 points adding five rebounds and four assists for Tarvas in his team's victory, helping them to crush Sakalai (#4, 2-3) with 23-point margin 96-73. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Tarvas is placed at 2nd position in Baltic League . Tarvas is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-3 record. In the team's last game Tamm had a remarkable 91.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Tarvas' top player in his first season with the team. Tamm has impressive league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 19.2ppg. Tamm is in league's top in assists (9th best: 4.8apg) and averages solid 63.2% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Kaspars Cipruss (210-C-82) of league's second-best Lietkabelis. He is Latvian center in his first season at Lietkabelis. In the last game Cipruss recorded impressive 15 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course Lietkabelis cruised to a 87-80 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Jelgava (#5, 2-4). Lietkabelis' second position in the standings has not changed. His team lost just one game this season, while they won 4 matches. Cipruss is a newcomer at Lietkabelis and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Erik Keedus (198-F-90) of TTU (#6). Keedus showcased his all-around game by recording 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists in the last round. Despite Keedus' great performance TTU lost 72-80 to slightly higher-ranked Rapla (#5, 1-4). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. TTU can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-6 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Keedus he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Keedus has a very solid season. In 7 games in Baltic League he scored 11.3ppg. He also has 6.6rpg, 3.4apg and FGP: 51.6%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Rain Raadik (208-C-89) of Parnu - 14 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Vytautas Sulskis (200-G-88) of Siauliai - 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Gediminas Zyle (210-C-88) of Nevezis - 18 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Tomas Cerneckis (190-PG-88) of Nevezis - 15 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Lewis Jackson (178-PG-89) of Siauliai - 15 points, 2 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Keith McLeod (190-PG-79) of Kalev/Cramo - 14 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Rait-Riivo Laane (178-PG-93) of Rapla - 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
