Pantsiukh's double-double lands her Player of the Week award - Jan 1, 2013

25-year old forward Viktoryia Pantsiukh (185-F-87) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's best team Tsmoki-Minsk and receives a Player of the Week award for round 5.
She had a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds, while her team beat Eclex Tallinn (#4, 2-4) 72-65. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Tsmoki-Minsk to consolidate first place in the Baltic League . They maintain perfect record without any lost game in the league. It's already very far into the season and Tsmoki-Minsk keeps perfect 7 -0 record. In the team's last game Pantsiukh had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. She has many years of experience at Tsmoki-Minsk, through which he has constantly improved. Pantsiukh has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (5th best: 11.6ppg), rebounds (7th best: 5.6rpg) and assists (3rd best: 2.2apg).

Second best performed player last round was Inna Kochubei (174-G-82) of league's second-best Tim-Scuf. She is a guard in her first season at Tim-Scuf. In the last game Kochubei recorded impressive double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds. Of course Tim-Scuf cruised to a 64-56 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Eclex Tallinn (#4, 2-4). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Tim-Scuf consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. Her team's 3-2 record is not bad at all. Kochubei is a newcomer at Tim-Scuf and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another Tsmoki-Minsk's star - center Alina Iordan (190-C-88). Iordan scored 14 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). She was another key player of Tsmoki-Minsk, helping her team with a 67-43 easy win against #3 ranked Berezina. Tsmoki-Minsk have amazing season winning all 7 games without a single defeat. Iordan turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Iordan has a great season in Baltic League. After only 5 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 6.6ppg (8th best) and rebounds with 6.8rpg (3rd best).

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Round 3: Dynamo-Farm beat Olimpia GrGAU twice - 4 days ago

What a coincidence that all visitors won their games. The game with biggest result difference took place in Grodno. Local Olimpia GrGAU (0-2) lost to Russia Dynamo-Farm (2-0) 62-49 on Thursday night. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 13 points. Center Marina Kress (193-C-80) put on an amazing game in the last round for Gorizont, receiving a Player of the Week award for round 2. The 36-year old player had a double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds, while her team beat Tsmoki-Minsk (#4, 0-1) 56-51. There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in Baltic League. The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Tsmoki-Minsk (0-1) at the home court on Monday night. Hosts were defeated by Gorizont (1-1) 56-51.
