A.J. Stewart
American forward A.J. Stewart (205-F-88) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Tarvas, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 5 (Top 16).
The 24-year old player had a double-double of 26 points and 13 rebounds, while his team The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Tarvas maintains the 2nd position in Baltic League . They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this stage. Tarvas will need to avoid more loses keep or improve their 3-1 record. Stewart just recently signed at Tarvas and just after two games he already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. A.J. Stewart averages just after two games 22.5ppg and 10.0rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was another Tarvas' star - 25-year old American Brandis Raley-Ross (188-G-87). Raley-Ross had a very good evening with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Bad luck as Tarvas lost that game 79-88 to league's leader Juventus (#1, 4-0). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Tarvas still maintains its place in the top 2 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 3-1 record is not bad at all. Raley-Ross is a newcomer at Tarvas, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Arturs Duselis (201-F-89) of Jelgava (#3). Duselis scored 26 points and grabbed five rebounds. He was a key player of Jelgava, leading his team to a 114-93 easy win against #4 ranked Naglis Palangos. Jelgava needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 2 lost games. Duselis has a very solid season. In 14 games in Baltic League he scored 11.1ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Parrish Brown (185-G-84) of Naglis Palangos - 25 points, 2 rebounds and 6 assists
5. Martins Meiers (208-C-91) of Ventspils - 15 points and 14 rebounds
6. TreVon Hughes (183-PG-87) of Pieno Zvaigzdes - 28 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Lauris Mizis (198-F-89) of Jelgava - 14 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Sandis Silavs (195-G-88) of Jelgava - 22 points and 5 assists
9. Martins Laksa (200-SF-90) of Ventspils - 16 points and 9 rebounds
10. Karolis Petrukonis (212-C-87) of Juventus - 15 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
