Russian-Ukrainian Aleksandra Khomenchuk (202-C-89) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's second-best Gorizont and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 2 (Second Stage).
The 23-year old center had a double-double of 26 points and eighteen rebounds, while her team beat Eclex Tallinn (#3, 1-2) 86-76. Gorizont was forced-out from the top positions in Baltic League group A. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this stage. Gorizont will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. It's Khomenchuk's second year at Gorizont and it's hard to imagine this team without her.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 22-year old center Kristina Alminaite (205-C-90) of Kibirkstis-Tiche. Alminaite impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 20 points and 16 rebounds. Of course she lead Kibirkstis-Tiche to another comfortable win outscoring Victoria (0-3) 96-58. The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Alminaite is a newcomer at Kibirkstis-Tiche and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

The third best performed player last round was Krystyna Matsko (182-F-91) of Tim-Scuf (#-1). Matsko scored 25 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). Despite Matsko's great performance Tim-Scuf lost 71-88 to #-3 ranked Olimpia. But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The chances of Tim-Scuf not to end season at such low position in group B, however are less than slim as they have already lost 2 games, recording just one victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Matsko could try to bring Tim-Scuf's a little bit higher in the standings. Matsko has individually a great season in Baltic League. After 11 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 13.8ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 8.1rpg (4th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Mirjam Nikolai (177-G-86) of Eclex Tallinn - 24 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Annika Koster (185-F/C-92) of Eclex Tallinn - 11 points, 16 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Lyubov Alyoshkina (203-C-81) of Olimpia - 16 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Annika Koster (185-F/C-92) of Eclex Tallinn - 10 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Lina Pikciute (192-F-90) of Kibirkstis-Tiche - 17 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Miriam Uro-Nilie (190-C-94) of Tim-Scuf - 17 points and 13 rebounds
10. Maryia Papova (186-PF-94) of Olimpia - 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
