Final: VICI Kaunas - Spartak SP 85-72
VICI Kaunas are 2011 Baltic League champions. They overcame Spartak Saint Petersburg in the Final earlier today. Courtnay Pilypaitis (185-G-88, college: Vermont) came up with 18 points, 6 boards and 4 assists to pace well-balanced effort from VICI. The hosts took over from the starting moments. VICI Kaunas poured in 26 points in the first stanza to grab a 6-point lead. Spartak SP struggled to adjust their defense in the first half. VICI Kaunas capitalized building a 12-point advantage at the interval 42:30. Spartak finally managed to challenge the home team in the third term. The Russian team cut the distance to 11 points with ten minutes remaining. But it was far from enough. VICI Kaunas regained control in the final minutes, scored 22 points and raced to the victory at the end. Ausra Bimbaite (179-G-82) produced 17 points, 13 boards and 5 assists for VICI Kaunas. Marina Solopova (180-G/F-90) had 16 points in the victory. Eugeniya Belyakova responded with 26 points for Spartak SP. Jennifer Lacy delivered 17 points, 5 boards and 4 assists in defeat.

3rd Place: Lemminkainen - Gorizont 77-100
Gorizont stepped on BWBL pedestal. They prevailed against Lithuanian Lemminkainen to earn Bronze medals at the championship. Tatsiana Likhtarovich scored impressive 35 points to pace the Belarusian team. Gorizont and Lemminkainen looked equally matched in the first frame of consololation final in Kaunas. Gorizont eked out a 24:23 lead after ten minutes of action. Lemminkainen bounced back in the second term and snatched a 50:49 advantage at halftime. But the third term killed the intrigue. Gorizont erupted for 31 points in the period limiting Lemminkainen to just 13. The Belarusian team gained a decisive advantage and never looked back en route to the victory. Tatyana Troina (188-F-81, college: S.Carolina) netted 17 points and distributed 7 assists for Gorizont. Aleksandra Khomenchuk and Sviatlana Valko (173-G-89) provided 10 points each for the winners. Irma Raugaite responded with 22 points and 6 boards for Lemminkainen. Rita Milieskiene banked 17 points in the loss.
