Regular Season Round 6: Hyeres-Toulon - Poitiers 93-90

There was an upset when higher ranked Poitiers (2-4) was edged on the road by sixteenth ranked Hyeres-Toulon (1-5) 93-90 on Saturday. Poitiers was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 29-25 charge of Hyeres-Toulon, which allowed them to win the game. They made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Poitiers was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for international center Alexis Ajinca (215-88, agency: Priority Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. The former international guard Paccelis Morlende (189-81) contributed with 26 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Hyeres-Toulon players scored in double figures. Forward Pierre-Yves Guillard (201-84) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Kenny Younger (203-77, college: Houston, agency: Warren Sports International) added 19 points in the effort for Poitiers. Hyeres-Toulon left bottom position moving up to fifteenth place, which they share with Pau-Lacq-Orthez. It was Poitiers' third loss in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. Hyeres-Toulon will face higher ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
