The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Sluc Nancy) loss. Gravelines-Dunkerque smashed 15th ranked Hyeres-Toulon at home 106-57. The game without a history. Gravelines-Dunkerque led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Hyeres-Toulon's 44. Gravelines-Dunkerque forced 20 Hyeres-Toulon turnovers and outrebounded them 55-39 including 19 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Hyeres-Toulon's players. It was an exceptional evening for international point guard Andrew Albicy (178-90) who led the winners and scored 9 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. The former international forward Dounia Issa (198-81) accounted for 14 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks for the winning side. Four Gravelines-Dunkerque players scored in double figures. Gravelines-Dunkerque's coach Christian Monschau felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Rolan Roberts (201-78, college: S.Illinois) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and center Louis Labeyrie (209-92) added 8 points and 14 rebounds respectively for Hyeres-Toulon in the defeat. Gravelines-Dunkerque (6-1) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Nancy. Hyeres-Toulon at the other side dropped to the bottom place with six games lost. Hyeres-Toulon will play next round against STB Le Havre trying to get back on the winning streak. Gravelines-Dunkerque will try to continue on its current victory against fifteenth ranked JSF Nanterre on the road.
