Regular Season Round 33: Z*Kebs de Laval - London L. 105-95

Date: February 25, 2012
The London Lightning lost their second in three games Saturday, heading to Quebec to drop a 105-95 National Basketball League of Canada decision to the Kebs. The Lightning had already wrapped up first place but want to go into the playoffs peaking at the right time. The last five games the Lightning have been up and down. On Saturday, they played well for the first three quarters, taking a nine-point lead into the final 12 minutes. But the Kebs outscored the Lightning 43-24 in the final frame. Cedric Moodie led the Kebs with 31 points. The Lightning were led yet again by Eddie Smith. He put up 34 points, including 12 of 13 from the foul line. Rodney Buford added 18 and Gabe Freeman 12. The Lightning have two games left before the playoffs, when they'll play either the Saint John Mill Rats or Oshawa Power. The Mill Rats and Power both have two games left but the Mill Rats can clinch the final playoff spot with a win or a Power loss. The Lightning will open the best-of-three series on the road, with the final two games in London. The first local playoff game is scheduled for March 9 at the John Labatt Centre. *Courtesy of www.lfpress.com
