Regular Season Round 2: Mobis Phoebus - Samsung Th. 114-77

No shocking result in a game when Mobis Phoebus (3-0) crushed Samsung Thunders (1-2) in Ulsan 114-77 on Friday. Mobis Phoebus dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Samsung Thunders' 50 and made 20-of-21 free shots (95.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Samsung Thunders 46-23 including a 35-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Mobis Phoebus looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The former international forward Ricardo Ratliffe (203-89, college: Missouri) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 20 rebounds (on 17-of-20 shooting from the field). American guard Shannon Shorter (193-89, college: N.Texas) contributed with 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Mobis Phoebus players scored in double figures. Cameroonian forward Benoit Mbala (203-95) replied with 30 points and 8 rebounds and American point guard Glenn Cosey (183-92, college: E.Kentucky) added 17 points and 6 assists in the effort for Samsung Thunders. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mobis Phoebus will face DB Promy (#9) in Wonju in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Samsung Thunders will play on the road against Sonic Boom KT in Busan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
