Very predictable result when fifth ranked Rishon (8-7) won against 10th ranked Maccabi Ashdod (4-9) in Rishon Le-Zion 92-79 on Monday. Rishon had a 27-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American players dominated also this game. It was an exceptional evening for guard Alex Hamilton (193-93, college: Louisiana Tech) who led the winners and scored 18 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Guard Cameron Long (192-88, college: George Mason, agency: Inception Sports) accounted for 17 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side. Mark Tollefsen (206-92, college: Arizona) came up with 26 points and 7 rebounds and forward Landon Milbourne (201-87, college: Maryland) added 16 points respectively for Maccabi Ashdod in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Rishon. They maintain fifth place with 8-7 record. Maccabi Ashdod at the other side keeps the tenth position with nine games lost. Rishon will meet higher ranked Hapoel Eilat (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Maccabi Ashdod will play against Maccabi T-A (#3) and hope to secure a win.
