Regular Season Round 51: Shiga L-Stars - Osaka Evessa 84-81

The most exciting game of round 51 in the B League took place in Shiga. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Osaka Evessa (18-33) to fifth ranked Shiga L-Stars (14-37) 84-81 on Saturday evening. The best player for the winners was American power forward Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) who had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 8 assists. His fellow American import swingman Henry Walker (198-87, college: Kansas St.) chipped in 27 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Durham is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks and American-Nigerian power forward Trevor Mbakwe (207-89, college: Minnesota, agency: Pensack Sports) added 14 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Osaka Evessa's coach Kensuke Hosaka tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Shiga L-Stars maintains fifth place with 14-37 record, which they share with Yokohama BC. Osaka Evessa lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 33 games lost. Shiga L-Stars is again looking forward to face higher ranked Osaka Evessa (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Osaka Evessa will have a break next round.
