Regular Season Round 31: Rishon - Holon 102-105

Date: May 13, 2019
Fifth-ranked Rishon (14-17) gave a tough game to third ranked Hapoel Holon (23-8) in Rishon Le-Zion on Monday. The visitors from Holon managed to secure only three-point victory 105-102. However their fans expected easier game. It was a great evening for American guard Corey Walden (188-92, college: E.Kentucky) who led his team to a victory scoring 37 points (!!!) and 6 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!). American-Kosovan Shawn Jones (203-92, college: MTSU) helped adding 20 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Alex Hamilton (193-93, college: Louisiana Tech) responded with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import power forward Darryl Monroe (201-86, college: GMU) scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Rishon players scored in double figures. Hapoel Holon moved-up to second place, which they share with H.Jerusalem. Rishon at the other side keeps the fifth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Beer Sheva and Nes-Ziona. Hapoel Holon is looking forward to face Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#8) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rishon will play against the league's second-placed Hapoel Jerusalem and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
