There was no surprise when 6th ranked Rishon (14-18) was defeated on the road by second ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (24-8) 91-80. Hapoel Jerusalem players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. 26 personal fouls committed by Rishon helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by Dominican-American James Feldeine (193-88, college: Quinnipiac) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 13 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists and American forward Tashawn Thomas (203-93, college: Oklahoma, agency: Pensack Sports) supported him with 20 points. Five Hapoel Jerusalem players scored in double figures. Even 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists by American guard Alex Hamilton (193-93, college: Louisiana Tech) did not help to save the game for Rishon. International power forward Itay Segev (204-95) added 12 points and 10 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. Hapoel Jerusalem have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 24-8 record behind leader Maccabi T-A, which they share with Holon. Rishon lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 18 games lost. Hapoel Jerusalem's next round opponent will be Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#8) on the road where they are favorite. Rishon will play against Hapoel Eilat and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
