Marquis
Teague
Avtodor Saratov (VTB) tabbed 23-year old American point guard Marquis Teague (188-79kg-93, college: Kentucky). He already started the season at Ironi Nahariya in Israeli Winner League. In three games he had very impressive stats: 15.3ppg, 3.0rpg and 7.3apg this season. Teague also played 4 games in Basketball Champions League where he recorded 7.5ppg, 2.3rpg and 3.8apg. The last season he played at another team OKC Blue in U.S. semi-pro league D-League. In 51 games he averaged remarkable 16.0ppg, 2.8rpg and 5.9apg.
In 2012 Teague was drafted by Drafted by? Chicago Bulls (NBA) in first round (29th overall). He attended University of Kentucky and it will be his fifth season in pro basketball.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Teague was voted Eurobasket.com All-World Championships U17 Honorable Mention back in 2010 at his college time.
Teague represented USA at the World Championships U17 in Hamburg (Germany) six years ago. His team won Gold and his stats at that event were 8 games: 7.0ppg, 1.9rpg, Assists-2 (6.0apg), 1.8spg, FGP: 43.5%, FT: 66.7%.
Teague has played previously professionally in NBA (Brooklyn Nets and Phi.76ers) and D-League (Iowa Energy).
He could be described: (by Jonathan Wasserman for NBADraft.net in 2012)
Physically he's extremely athletic with a quick first step, good size and stays low to the ground. Looks more natural as a playmaker in the drive and dish game, keeping his head up while showing a willingness to kick it out to shooters ... Really has a solid understanding of how to manipulate a defense, draw off-ball defenders away from their man and then hit his target with accuracy and timeliness ... Runs the pick and roll/pick and pop effectively for a young point guard
