There was no surprise in Thessaloniki where 7th ranked Slovenian Helios (1-7) were defeated by fourth ranked Greek Aris (5-3) 72-54 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 36-17 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Will Cummings (188-92, college: Temple) who scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Serbian power forward Tadija Dragicevic (206-86) chipped in 17 points. Aris' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best player for the winners was American point guard Davin White (185-81, college: CS Northridge) who scored 21 points and 5 assists. The other American import forward Tim Abromaitis (203-89, college: Notre Dame) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four CB Canarias players scored in double figures. American point guard Scottie Reynolds (188-87, college: Villanova) produced 19 points and 4 assists and forward Nik Slavica (201-97) added 16 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
