Jimmy Baron
American Jimmy Baron (191-G-86) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's leader Neptunas and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 30-year old guard had the game-high 42 points adding four rebounds for Neptunas in his team's victory, helping them to beat Usak (#7, 2-6) 103-88. It allowed Neptunas to consolidate first place in the Basketball Champions League group C. Neptunas have a solid 7-1 record. In the team's last game Baron had a remarkable ten three-pointers out of 15 attempts. He turned to be Neptunas' top player in his first season with the team. Rhode Island University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Baron is in league's top in points (6th best: 17.0ppg) and averages solid 64.3% FGP and 50.0% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 25-year old American shooting guard Rion Brown (198-SG-91) of Kataja Basket. Brown impressed basketball fans with 40 points and 7 rebounds. Of course he led Kataja Basket to another comfortable win 88-69 over slightly lower-ranked Maccabi Rishon (#6, 3-5) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Kataja Basket to move up to 5th position in group B. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 4-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Brown is a newcomer at Kataja Basket and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Vojtech Hruban (202-F-89) of CEZ Nymburk (#3). Hruban scored 28 points and grabbed five rebounds. He was a key player of CEZ Nymburk, leading his team to a 114-70 easy win against the lower-ranked Bakken (#8, 1-7). CEZ Nymburk needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in group A. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 3 lost games. Hruban has a very solid season. In 8 games in Basketball Champions League he scored 11.9ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Brian Qvale (210-C-88) of EWE Baskets - 19 points and 11 rebounds
5. Bryon Allen (193-G-92) of CEZ Nymburk - 35 points and 8 rebounds
6. Vladimir Stimac (210-C-87) of Besiktas - 11 points and 18 rebounds
7. Michael Dixon (186-G-90) of AEK Athens - 29 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Nick Minnerath (207-PF-88) of Avtodor - 21 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Sean Denison (210-C-85) of Oradea - 19 points and 8 rebounds
10. Mouhammadou Jaiteh (208-C-94) of Strasbourg - 12 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
