Another exciting game was played in Aarhus between seventh ranked Slovenian Helios and 8th ranked Danish Bakken where Helios (2-9) beat Bakken (1-10) on the road 74-68. It looked good early as Bakken took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Helios had a 22-15 second period charge getting the lead and Bakken was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 68-74. Strangely Bakken outrebounded Helios 43-27 including a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Czech Tomas Kyzlink (195-93) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 5 assists. American power forward Cory Remekun (203-91, college: St.Louis) contributed with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American-Trinidad and Tobago guard Devaughn Akoon-Purcell (196-93, college: Illinois St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 18 rebounds and American guard Mike Gesell (188-93, college: Iowa) added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Bakken. Bakken's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending Slovenian champion maintains seventh place in Group A with 2-9 record. Bakken lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Helios will play against higher ranked Ironi Nahariya (#6) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bakken will play against Deutsche Bank Skyliners in Frankfurt to get more than just one victory in their record.

The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Ironi Nahariya won third quarter 25-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. A very interesting game took place in Balikesir. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Greek Aris (7-4) to second ranked Turkish Banvit (9-2) 95-94 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Aris. Banvit shot 29 for 44 from the free-throw line, while Aris only scored eleven points from the stripe. Banvit forced 19 Aris turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. 31 personal fouls committed by Aris helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities.
