The team has announced the signing of guard/forward Stephen Holt (193-G-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) while releasing Chris Hass (196-G/F-94, college: Bucknell). Hass, 22, is in his forst year out of Bucknell and had joined the Lions in December. In six domestic league contests he averaged a modest 6.3 points and 1.0 assists. He also appeared in five BCL games, averaging 1.2 points in just under six minutes per game. Hass began his pro career this season in Germany with Phoenix Hagen, where in 11 games he averaged a solid 11.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.2 steals.
Stephn Holt, 25, is a three-year veteran out of St. Mary's (CA), the same school as Nymburk forward Diamon Simpson (204-F-87, college: St.Mary's, CA). The 6-4 Holt can also alternate between the two and three positions and brings a little more experience to the roster than what Hass had provided.
This season Holt had been with Tecnyconta Zaragoza in Spain's Liga Endesa, where in 17 games posted averages of 6.2 points and 2.4 rebounds. During his career Holt has played in the NBA D-League, Australia and then Spain. The following season in Australia he was named to the Australiabasket.com NBL All-Imports Team as well as NBL 2nd Team while with Melbourne United.
Nymburk currently reside atop the Czech NBL standings with a 20-1 record and finished 10-4 (#3) in Group A of the Basketball Champions League Regular Season and will now advance to the playoff qualifiers next week.
