Keith Benson
Aris Thessaloniki (A1) added to their roster 29-year old American center Keith Benson (211-107kg-88, college: Oakland). He played last summer at Guizhou in Chinese NBL league. In two games he had very impressive stats: 21.5ppg and 10.0rpg.
Benson was selected to D-League All-Star Game in 2016 and 2017.
The previous (15-16) season Benson played at another team Sioux Falls Skyforce in U.S. NBA-G-League. The team played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and he was exposed to basketball on different levels. In 56 games he recorded 13.3ppg, 7.2rpg and 1.6bpg.
In 2011 Benson was drafted by Atlanta Hawks (NBA) in second round (48th overall). He attended Oakland University and it will be his seventh season in pro basketball.
He is quite experienced player. Benson's career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in eight different countries. Benson tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Asia and of course North America. He has played previously professionally also in Belarus (Tsmoki-Minsk), Estonia (Kalev/Cramo), Italy (Banco di Srd), Lithuania (Neptunas), Philippines, Turkey (Banvit) and NBA (Golden State Warriors and Miami Heat).
On Benson: (by Jorrye Nixon for NBADraft.net in 2011)
Runs the floor well and shows good reactive leaping skills that help him some on the glass and blocking shotsDisplays a developing post game that is pretty solid right nowHas a very soft touch and is still adding moves to his repertoireHas a right-handed jump hook that is very effective, and with his length looks to translate seamlesslyNever seems to rush into his moves. Can be pushed out of the post by more physical bigs, and sometimes struggles to establish position consistently against strength Will need to get much stronger in his lower body Doesn't play very tough, physical ... His motor is also very improvable
.

27-year old swingman Gediminas Orelik (199-G/F-90) had an amazing evening in the last round for Umana VE and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 1. He had the game-high 24 points adding eight rebounds and three assists for Umana VE in his team's victory, helping them to beat Banvit BK (0-1) 108-101.
