Premier League Round 6: Minsk-2006 defeats Grodno-93 in the game between Top 4 teams - Apr 28, 2012

The Second Stage in Premier League just ended. Coincidentally all hosts won their games.

An interesting game for Minsk-2006 (29-1) which hosted in Minsk second-best Grodno-93 (25-5). First ranked Minsk-2006 had an easy win 106-63. The hosts trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 106-63. Minsk-2006 dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Grodno-93's 34. Minsk-2006 forced 20 Grodno-93 turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for American guard Bobby Maze (191-86, college: Tennessee) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 8 assists. Russian forward Aleksandr Fomin (207-86, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Ukrainian guard Stanislav Ovdeenko (192-84) replied with 15 points for Grodno-93. Grodno-93's coach Andrei Vasileuka gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion maintains first position in League with 29-1 record. Grodno-93 at the other side keeps the second place with five games lost.
An interesting game for Rubon (14-16) which hosted in Vitebsk one of their biggest challengers Minsk-2006 II (10-20). Third ranked Rubon had an easy win 99-66. Point guard Artem Malkov (185-88) scored 18 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Dimitri Sivalko chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Valentin Ignatchik (192) with 24 points. Rubon maintains third position in League with 14-16 record having just 0 victories less than leader SBK Osipovichi. Newly promoted Minsk-2006 II keeps the fourth place with 20 games lost.

Kiril Sitnik notched 26 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals to lead the effort. Even 9 points and 5 rebounds by Yahor Patupchyk did not help to save the game for Sozh Gomel. SBK Osipovichi maintains first position in League with 14-16 record. Loser Sozh Gomel still closes the standings with 30 games lost.
