Belarus opened win count at the international friendly tournament in Antalya. They shot down Japan in the opener. Anastasiya Veremeenko (194-C-87) stepped up with 13 points and 10 boards to lead the charge.
Belarus built a 7-point lead after the opening quarter. Japan responded with a furious second term. They outscored Belarus 23:10 for a 33:27 halftime lead. But the European had an adequate respond in store. They went on a 20:7 run in the third quarter to build a 47:40 lead at the final intermission. The teams traded baskets throughout the final frame as Belarus cruised to the victory. Tatsiana Likhtarovich (179-G/F-88, agency: LBM Management) finished with 9 points for Belarus. Katerina Snytsina (188-F-85) and Ala Murauskaya (187-F-85) added 6 points each for the winners. Maki Takada (183-C-89) answered with 11 points for Japan. Rika Tanaka (173-G/F-82) had 9 points in defeat.
