Belarusian National Team are marching towards 2013 EuroBasket. They posted the fourth straight win at the start of the Qualifying Round in Group A. Tonight Belarus held off Ukraine in Yuzny to stay undefeated on top of the pool. Anastasiya Veremeenko (194-C-87) stepped up with 13 points, 13 boards, 3 steals and 3 blocks to pace the visitors.
Belarus played a nearly perfect defence in the first half. They limited Ukraine to 22 points in the first two periods to accumulate a 27:22 halftime lead. Ukraine tipped off the third quarter with six points in a row to surge ahead. But Belarus responded quickly and gained a 37:35 advantage with one quarter remaining. Tetiana Panchenk-Stakhova (173-G/F-79) put the hosts back in charge with a three-pointer early in the final quarter. However Belarus triggered a 7:3 rally to regain the lead. The visitors used an 8:0 run late in regulation to clear off and protected the lead till the final buzzer. Alexandra Tarasava (170-PG-88) had 9 points for Belarus. Viktoriya Hasper (193-C-88) and Tatyana Troina (188-F-81, college: S.Carolina) accounted for 7 points each in the win. Olexandra Kurasova (186-F-86) answered with 17 points for Ukraine. Alina Iagupova (186-G-92, agency: LBM Management) and Tetiana Panchenk-Stakhova had 8 points each in the loss.

Latvia - Belarus 65:60 Latvia and Belarus clashed in the second friendly game in Riga. The hosts claimed the second straight victory at home court. Kristine Vitola (193-C-91, college: UTEP) and Ieva Kulite (188-C-88) posted 12 points each for the winners. Latvia jumped to a 17:12 lead ten minutes into the game. Female Belarusian team lost first game against Latvian 57-59. Belarusian team was defeated by Latvian opponents in first friendly game in preparation for the Olympic qualification. The final score was 57 points against 59. Best results were achieved by Maryia Papova & Yelena Leuchanka. Maryia Papova spent 28:59 minutes on the playground, scored 12 pts, made 4 assists & 2 rebounds. Yelena Leuchanka scored 15 pts & made 6 rebounds. Anastasiya Sushchyk agreed terms with Tsmoki-Minsk - May 25, 2016

BK Tsmoki-Minsk (Premier League) strengthened their roster with addition of 19-year old point guard Anastasiya Sushchyk (160-97, agency: AB Agency). She has played for the last three years at RGUOR Minsk (Premier League). In 31 games she recorded 11.3ppg, 5.4rpg, 3.5apg (top 5) and 1.9spg last season. She helped them to make it to the semifinals.
