Belarus wins Group I of the Classification Round for 17th to 22nd Place with 2-0 record. The team overcame Luxembourg 89:87 in the last day of the Group Stage at the U18 European Championship in Division B.
Luxembourg opened the game with 26:22, but could not keep the lead at the halftime. Belarus controlled the second frame and grabbed 48:47 after 26-21 in the quarter. Luka Malakhau (185-PG-94) gave Belarus 66:58 late in the third quarter, but Thomas Grun (194-PG-95) closed the frame at 66:62. It was tough at the end of the game in the court as both teams exchanged the lead several times. Jo Hoeser (193-PF-94) tied it all at 87:87, while Anton Vashkevich (203-F/C-94) gave his side the final points.
Yahor Patupchyk (191-SG-94) and Anton Vashkevich paced all the winners with 16 points each, while Dzmitry Astashou (195-SF-94) notched 15. Kiryl Chumakou (194-SF-95) and Luka Malakhau followed them with 11 points apiece. Jo Hoeser erupted with 36 points in the losing effort and Thomas Grun scored 18. Bob Melcher (196-G-94) posted 16, while Yann Wolff (196-PF-94) chipped in with 8.

Coincidentally all visitors won their games. The game between Top Four teams took place in Vitebsk. 4th ranked host Vitebsk (15-11) was smashed by first ranked Grodno-93 (24-2) 90-69. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Vitebsk. The game was mostly controlled by Grodno-93. Vitebsk managed to win third quarter 22-18.
