Premier League top team - Olimpia GrGAU (8-0) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Sozh Gomel (3-7) in Grodno 87-58. The game was mostly controlled by Olimpia GrGAU. Sozh Gomel managed to win fourth quarter 25-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Sozh Gomel 53-38 including a 37-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Olimpia GrGAU looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Sozh Gomel's players. The former international guard Nadzeya Drozd (174-83) orchestrated the victory with a triple-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists. Maryia Papova (186-94) contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Ukrainian center Elena Staschuk (192-85) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds for Sozh Gomel. Undefeated Olimpia GrGAU have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-0 record. Sozh Gomel lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with seven games lost. Olimpia GrGAU are looking forward to face league's second-placed Tsmoki-Minsk on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sozh Gomel will play against Victoria-UOR in Grodno and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked BrGU COR Victoria is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their tenth consecutive match to third ranked Gorizont (7-2) 91-49. It was a great evening for the former international center Maryna Ivashchanka (190-93) who led her team to a victory scoring 18 points and 8 rebounds. Marina Kress helped adding 7 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Veranika Adamik (181-90) responded with 24 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Gorizont. Defending champion maintains third place with 7-2 record behind leader Olimpia. BrGU COR Victoria lost their tenth game in a row. They still closes the standings with ten games lost. Gorizont will play against Berezina-RCOR (#4) in Borisovo in the next round. BrGU COR Victoria will have a break next round.

The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Tsmoki-Minsk. They maintain second place with 8-1 record having just -1 point less than leader Olimpia. Victoria-UOR lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with eight games lost. Tsmoki-Minsk will meet at home league's leader Olimpia GrGAU in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Victoria-UOR will play against Sozh Gomel (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.



Victoria - Tsmoki-Minsk 53-74

The game in Grodno supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Tsmoki-Minsk (8-1) played at the court of 6th ranked Victoria-UOR (2-8). Tsmoki-Minsk smashed Victoria-UOR 74-53 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Tsmoki-Minsk. Victoria-UOR managed to win third quarter 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tsmoki-Minsk dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Victoria-UOR's 22 and made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game, while Victoria-UOR only scored four points from the stripe. Tsmoki-Minsk had a 35-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Ukrainian center Alina Iordan (190-88) who led the winners and scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Tatsiana Tsiruleva (168-88) accounted for 9 points for the winning side. Forward Natallia Pratskaila (184-94) came up with 12 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Karalina Padshyvalava (165-92) added 9 points and 4 assists respectively for Victoria-UOR in the defeat.
