Genadziy
Zahar
20-year old Henadziy Zakhar (198-SF-92) put on an amazing game in the last round for Impuls BGUIR and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 17.
He had a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Tsmoki-Minsk II (#4, 7-8) 71-66. Impuls BGUIR maintains the 5th position in Belarusian league. Impuls BGUIR is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-9 record. Zakhar has many years of experience at Impuls BGUIR, through which he has constantly improved. Zakhar has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 16.3ppg), rebounds (4th best: 9.2rpg) and averages solid 2.5spg.

Second best performed player last round was Yaraslau Kurapau (200-F-91) of Tsmoki-Minsk II. He is a forward in his second season at Tsmoki-Minsk II. In the last game Kurapau recorded impressive 21 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Tsmoki-Minsk II lost that game 66-71 to slightly lower-ranked Impuls BGUIR (#5, 5-9). Tsmoki-Minsk II managed to keep the same 4th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 7-8 record. Kurapau is well-known at Tsmoki-Minsk II and he already established his position as one of the team's leaders.

Third place about best performers goes to another Impuls BGUIR's star - forward Yuriy Ignatiev (198-F-91). Ignatiev scored 22 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of Impuls BGUIR, helping his team with a 71-66 win against slightly higher-ranked Tsmoki-Minsk II (#4, 7-8). The chances of Impuls BGUIR not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 9 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Ignatiev could try to bring Impuls BGUIR's a little bit higher in the standings. Ignatiev has a very solid season. In 13 games in Belarus he scored 7.7ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Aliaksandr Semianiuk (207-F-93) of Tsmoki-Minsk II - 22 points and 9 rebounds
5. Oleksandr Dolenko (191-PG-90) of Svisloch - 18 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Sergei Dadukin (198-F-83) of Sozh Gomel - 11 points and 12 rebounds
7. Pavel Shuleyko (200-F-88) of Svisloch - 12 points and 5 rebounds
8. Nikola Polyulyak (192-G-90) of Svisloch - 16 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Aliaksandr Hrumiantsau (205-PF-91) of Svisloch - 11 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Pavel Pronin (188-PG-93) of Svisloch - 6 points and 5 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
