International power forward Volha Istseliatsova (189-F/C-88) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Tsmoki-Minsk, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 2 (Second Stage).
The 24-year old player was the main contributor (20 points, four rebounds and two assists) to her team's victory, helping them to beat Sozh Gomel (#4, 5-9) 80-65. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Tsmoki-Minsk maintains the 2nd position in Belarusian Premier League. They are still close to the very top. Tsmoki-Minsk would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 12-2 record. Istseliatsova has many years of experience at Tsmoki-Minsk, through which he has constantly improved.

The second best player in last round's games was 27-year old Ukrainian Elena Staschuk (192-C-85) of Sozh Gomel. Staschuk had a very good evening with a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Sozh Gomel lost that game 65-80 to Tsmoki-Minsk (12-2). The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Staschuk is one of the most experienced players at Sozh Gomel and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Russian center Lyubov Alyoshkina (203-C-81) of league's top team Olimpia. Alyoshkina scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Despite Alyoshkina's great performance Olimpia lost 55-65 to #3 ranked Gorizont. But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. That was shocking loss for Olimpia and their fans. Hopefully so far almost perfect season will not turn around. They still have impressive 12-1 record in the league holding top position in the standings. Alyoshkina plays for a very strong team and Olimpia has many quality players. So achieving that high stats is even more impressive. Alyoshkina has a great season in Belarus. After 13 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.0rpg (#1 in league).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Aleksandra Khomenchuk (202-C-89) of Gorizont - 8 points and 11 rebounds
5. Olga Kopylova (187-F-82) of Sozh Gomel - 14 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Kati Rausberg (172-G-89) of Tsmoki-Minsk - 13 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Viktoryia Pantsiukh (185-F-87) of Tsmoki-Minsk - 15 points and 2 rebounds
8. Natalia Anufryienka (174-G-85) of Gorizont - 15 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Tatsiana Tsiruleva (168-G-88) of Tsmoki-Minsk - 15 points, 2 rebounds and 5 assists
10. Ekaterina Charikova) of Sozh Gomel - 10 points and 2 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
