Khomenchuk
Russian-Ukrainian Aleksandra Khomenchuk (202-C-89) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Gorizont and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 3 (Second Stage).
The 23-year old center had the game-high 8 points adding seventeen rebounds and three assists for Gorizont in her team's victory, helping them to beat Sozh Gomel (#4, 5-10) 73-60. Gorizont was forced-out from the top positions in Belarusian Premier League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier in Second Stage. Gorizont will need more victories to improve their 10-5 record. It's Khomenchuk's second year at Gorizont and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Khomenchuk has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 10.3rpg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young forward Hanna Tsarevich (178-F-95) of Victoria. Tsarevich impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 14 points and 10 assists. Of course she lead Victoria to another comfortable win outscoring BrGU (0-14) 103-59. The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Tsarevich is well-known by Victoria fans and she already established her position as one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another Victoria's star - Viyaleta Kiuliak (181-F-96). Kiuliak scored 17 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). She was another key player of Victoria, helping her team with a 103-59 easy win against #0 ranked BrGU in a game of the week. The chances of Victoria not to end season at such low position in Group B, however are less than slim as they have already lost 9 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Kiuliak could try to bring Victoria's a little bit higher in the standings. Kiuliak has a very solid season. In 10 games in Belarus she scored 8.8ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Volha Istseliatsova (189-F/C-88) of Tsmoki-Minsk - 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Yuliya Haponava (187-F-94) of Berezina - 15 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Daria Panasyuk (176-F-96) of BrGU - 21 points
7. Lyubov Alyoshkina (203-C-81) of Olimpia - 14 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Maryia Filonchyk (187-PF-92) of Olimpia - 14 points and 14 rebounds
9. Hanna Tsarevich (178-F-95) of Victoria - 13 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Maryia Rashchenia (185-PF-92) of Victoria - 15 points and 12 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
