30-year old forward Olga Kopylova (187-F-82) had a great game in the last round for Sozh Gomel and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 4 (Second Stage). She had the game-high 26 points adding six rebounds and four assists for Sozh Gomel in her team's victory, helping them to beat Tsmoki-Minsk (#2, 12-4) 96-84. Sozh Gomel maintains the 4th position in Belarusian Premier League. Sozh Gomel is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. But it was their 10th lost game this season out of 16 games. Kopylova has many years of experience at Sozh Gomel, through which he has constantly improved. Kopylova has impressive league stats. She is league's best scorer averaging so far 17.8ppg. Kopylova is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 8.8rpg) and assists (4th best: 2.3apg).
Second best performed player last round was Volha Istseliatsova (189-F/C-88) of league's second-best Tsmoki-Minsk. She is international forward in her 3rd season at Tsmoki-Minsk. In the last game Istseliatsova recorded impressive double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Tsmoki-Minsk lost that game 84-96 to slightly lower-ranked Sozh Gomel (#4, 6-10). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Group A. Tsmoki-Minsk still maintains its place in the top 2 of the standings, even despite this loss. Her team's 12-4 record is not bad at all. Istseliatsova is one of the most experienced players at Tsmoki-Minsk and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to center Aleksandra Khomenchuk (202-C-89) of Gorizont (#3). Khomenchuk scored 15 points and grabbed ten rebounds. Despite Khomenchuk's great performance Gorizont lost 55-73 to #1 ranked Olimpia. But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Gorizont needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in Group A. Their record is 10 victories and 6 lost games. Khomenchuk has a great season in Belarus. After 14 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.3rpg (2nd best).
Other top performing players last week: 4. Nadzeya Drozd (174-G-83) of Olimpia - 16 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists 5. Maryia Papova (186-PF-94) of Olimpia - 18 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists 6.
