At the stage of play-off the teams of Belarusian Men Basketball Championship are divided into two groups. Rubon will continue the battle for the getting into the final round in group B with such teams as Borisfen (Mogilev), Prinemanye (Grodno), Tsmoki-Minsk (2), Impuls-BGUIR (both Minsk). The games start 11 March.

This season only the games against the rivals from the same group are considered. In the first stage of the championship Rubon has won 9 games and lost 19, 8 win and 8 losses of which will be take into consideration in the second stage. So Rubon takes the third place in the group.

Group B

Tsmoki-Minsk (2) (Minsk) 26 pts
Impuls-BGUIR (Minsk) 24 pts
Rubon (Vitebsk) 24 pts
Borisfen (Mogilev) 23 pts
Prinemanye (Grodno) 21 pts

Head coach of Rubon and of Mens National team of Belarus Ruslan Baidakov shared of his opinion on the successes of the club and on the new championship system.

-The fourth round was the most successful from the beginning of the season. You beat four rival teams, Svisloch, for example. Is this systematic development of the team or fortunate concatenation of circumstances?

-Most probably its the complex of several factors. Firstly, we have managed to strengthen one of our lines by inviting Fedor Kryukov in the team. We had the possibility to make equal substitution and not a substitution only for giving time to rest to the player. Secondly, we have done a good work during winter holidays and raised our morale and improved our physical conditions. Thirdly, fortune favours those who are better ready and more dignified.

-What games of the first stage your athletes played the best way?

- Two visiting games against Prinemanye and Impuls-BGUIR spring to my mind. But, frankly speaking, I dont remember good games, bad games stick better.

-Basketball community esteemed Ivan Aladko and Victor Ovsepyan deserving to take part in All stars game in the team of Young players. Do you consider them the leaders of the season?

- Really this season Aladko showed himself like a good forward, at the same time he has enormous problems in defense. The principal aim of his further development as a professional basketball player is the solution of this problem.
The situation with Victor (Ovsepyan- author) is exactly converse. Ovsepyan always was a good guard but he had problems in offense. We try to eliminate this flow but the result depends on him.

-Who from Rubons players didnt tap his full potential?

-Yahor Patupchik. I mean his moral and mental conditions and understanding that basketball can become his job for years to come. This uncertainty and, sometimes, laxity dont let him use all his potential. This is the reason of extremely unstable games: from very bright to null and mediocre. He is not ripe yet.

-In the second stage the games against the rivals of another group arent considered. Many basketball specialists and amateurs didnt estimate this innovation. Do you support these changes?

-This system loses its spectacularity. I think that the people who are responsible for it have already understood that they had had an error. I hope the next season the same mistake will not be repeated.

-This championship is reach on technical losses. Because of financial difficulties the leaders and the outsiders of the championship cant reach the venues of games. Are the politics of the Federation (Belarusian Basketball Federation author) of suspending the teams from participation in the championship due to financial problems are reasonable or its necessary to search the other ways?

-Only one way is possible find the money for participating in the championship. Now the Federation distanced from helping the clubs, the clubs are unable to resolve the problem. At the same time the clubs must raise their players when they have such problems. In our country the situation is opposite: we prefer to sign a foreign player without thinking about the future.
It would be right to do the following: if a club doesnt have money it cant bid a foreign player in the line-up. Now the situation is the following: the clubs dont pay participating fee, dont raise Belarusian players for the country but everyone wants to have medals.

-This season Borisfen works wonders despite technical losses. The team has risen from the last place of the standings. Could two veterans of Mogilev basketball leave on the sidelines a half of participants of Belarusian Championship? Whereof this team is troublesome rival for Rubon?

- This team is a troublesome rival at all points, the roster of the team doesnt change during the last five years, also the veterans help to the club. As for the age, this team is fifth in the championship, so they cant not to work wonders in games against young teams.
