Vashkevich
Anton Vashkevich (203-F/C-94) had an amazing evening in the last round for Vitebsk and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 36.
The 22-year old power forward had a double-double of 12 points and eleven rebounds, while his team outclassed GOCOR-Sozh (#9, 4-28) with 41-point margin 101-60. Vitebsk maintains the 3rd position in Belarusian Premier League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Vitebsk will need more victories to improve their 21-11 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Vashkevich as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Vashkevich has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 8.3rpg) and averages solid 57.2% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 25-year old guard Kiril Volodkin (190-G-91) of Impuls BGUIR. Volodkin impressed basketball fans with 22 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course he led Impuls BGUIR to another comfortable win 84-71 over the lower-ranked Brest (#8, 4-28) being unquestionably team leader. Impuls BGUIR's 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 16-14 record is not bad and everything may still change. Volodkin is one of the most experienced players at Impuls BGUIR and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.1ppg (#9). His other stats are also decent: 4.6rpg and 4.5apg.

The third best performed player last round was Ruslan Kutskevich (202-F-95) of Prinemanye (#7). Kutskevich scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Despite Kutskevich's great performance Prinemanye lost 72-101 to the higher-ranked Tsmoki II (#4, 20-12). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Prinemanye can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 8-22 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Kutskevich he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Kutskevich has a very solid season. In 28 games in Belarus he scored 6.1ppg. He also has 4.9rpg and FGP: 55.4%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Kiryl Chumakov (197-F-95) of Grodno-93 - 17 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Dmitriy Dmitruk (198-F-81) of Brest - 20 points and 9 rebounds
6. Maksim Liutych (200-F-97) of Tsmoki II - 18 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Maksym Kozlovets (205-C-90) of COR-Borisfen - 19 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Yuriy Ignatev (202-F-91) of Impuls BGUIR - 17 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Vytautas Kamarunas (178-PG-89) of COR-Borisfen - 15 points, 2 rebounds and 7 assists
10. Aliaksei Kachan (185-PG-91) of Vitebsk - 22 points

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
