Maalik Wayns
Maalik Wayns
#1. This week's number one is an international point guard Maalik Wayns (185-91, college: Villanova, currently plays in Israel). He could not help Maccabi Rishon (11-13) in their last game. Despite Wayns' very good performance Maccabi Rishon lost 85-94 on the road to the higher-ranked (#4) Hapoel Eilat. He was the top scorer with 23 points. Wayns also added 4 rebounds and dished 7 assists in 37 minutes on the court. It was Maccabi Rishon's fourth consecutive loss in a row. Wayns has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 15.3ppg, 3.4rpg, 4.3apg, 1.5spg, 2FGP: 47.6%, 3FGP: 41.4% and FT: 73.0% in 15 games he played so far. Wayns is a naturalized American. Despite he played previously for the USA U18 national team, Wayns is currently a member of the Belarusian senior national team. Strangely he has never played in Belarus.

Vitali Liutych

#2. Second place goes to an international shooting guard Vitali Liutych (198-92, currently plays in VTB United League). Liutych recorded 25 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. BC Kalev/Cramo Tallinn (5-16) is placed 11th in the VTB United League. There are only three games left until the end of the VTB United League Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Liutych has relatively good stats this season: 14.7ppg, 3.7rpg, 2FGP: 58.5%(62-106), 3FGP: 35.6% and FT: 79.7%. Ex-Tsmoki-Minsk player is in the roster of the Belarusian senior national team.
