Roanne edged Antwerp 68:66 in the last game of Group L as both sides advanced to Elite 8 of EuroChallenge. Roanne won the group with 4-2 record, while Antwerp grabbed 3-3 record on the second place.

Roel Moors (188-G-78, agency: Agency No 10) tied the game at 35:35, while he made also 44:44 later in the quarter. A 7-0 run however allowed the hosts to take 51:44 after 30 minutes. The game remained tight, as the squads looked on their way to victory before Giants scored 11 unanswered points capped by Gay's trey to set up the thrilling finish. Diabate made two free throws at the end of the game for the final success. Uchenna Nsonwu (208-F/C-78, agency: Beo Basket, college: Wyoming) top-scored for the winners with 22 points and Ralph Mims (191-G-85, college: Florida St.) added 12. In 1/4 Finals Roanne will face Apoel that overcame 81:76 to clinch the second spot in Group K of EuroChallenge and advanced to Last 8. The team from Montenegro tried hard however finished with 2-4 record. Antwerp will take on Scavolini that even with the loss in the last game guaranteed the place there earlier in Group L.

FMP Belgrade clinched the EuroChallenge Quarter-Final Round ticket with a comprehensive 81:55 victory against Belgacom Liege. The Serbian team finished second in Group J with 4-2 record, while Liege finishes with 1-5 record.

Nemanja Protic (182-G-86) opened the game from the perimeter, while Michael Green (185-G-85, college: Towson) made the same for the guests. The teams were tied four times in the period as FMP took 22:18 after 10 minutes. Moreover they went on a bigger lead in the beginning of the second period and reached 32:21 when Mladen Jeremic (196-G-88) made a lay-up. Liege was too far to give up and reduced to 36:33 at the halftime. The third period became decisive in the game as the hosts produced 28-10 in it. Mladen Jeremic scored from the arc to give his team 64:43 after three quarters. Musli scored for 68:46 and his another four points brought 70:48 on the board. Papac was the last to score n the game to make the final 81:55 score. Miroslav Raduljica (213-C-88, agency: Buck Andre) and Nemanja Protic stepped up with 17 points each, while Mladen Jeremic added 15. Adrian Banks (191-G-86, college: NW Mississippi CC), Xavier Collette (184-G-85, agency: LBM Management), Andrija Stipanovic (208-C-86) and Michael Green posted 8 each in defeat. FMP will now face Goettingen that won Group I of EuroChallenge as they stormed past Eiffel Towers in the last game. The German side needed 86:57 twin the group with 5-1 record.

Several talented young Belgian players came back off the injured list this past weekend;
Maxime De Zeeuw came back after almost a little less than 2 months.
Jonathan Tabu who had been out since jan 30th also made his come-back.
Neither players could help their teams to victories.
Guy Muya also returned to the Liege roster after a short absence.
And Okapi Aalstar saw Pablo Gonzales back on the active roster for the first time since October 23rd [read more]

Not so good news for Aalstar is the loss of Kris Sergeant who needs to undergo surgery on his knee and will miss the rest of the season. It seems his career at the hightest level could come to an end after 15 years.
