Germany post the second straight win in Liege as they overcame Belgium 84:74. The German side celebrated the victory in Day 2 of the International Tournament and improved to 2-0 record. The hosts meanwhile fell at 1-1.
Germany did no waste time and took the lead from the very beginning. The guests enjoyed 15:5 lead after the first five minutes and grabbed 24:18 advantage at the end of the first period. Moreover they increased to 50:38 as the teams disappeared in the lockers. The third quarter was also dominated by the German side that led 69:51 with 10 minutes remaining. Belgium however reduced the gap to 10 points after a productive last quarter.
Romy Bar (189-F-87) top-scored for the winners with 16 points and Anne Breitreiner (183-G/F-84, agency: LBM Management) notched 13. Sarah Austmann (179-G/F-85) posted 12, while Stephanie Wagner (181-F-90) added 11. Sofie Hendrickx (186-PF-86) ended up with 12 points in the losing effort, whilst Noemie Mayombo (170-PG-91, agency: LBM Management), Anne-Sophie Strubbe (182-SF-90) and Dana Boonen (197-C-79, college: Rutgers) had 10 each.
