In Game 2 Belgium won over the Netherlands 79:76. Belgium capped the opening quarter to post a 19-17 lead at the first break. The Belgian Lions stayed in front throughout the second frame arriving at halftime up by 2 points 42-40. The Dutch team led however 59:58 after three quarters, while Belgium needed a productive last quarter to seal the narrow victory. Sam Van Rossom (188-G-86) accounted for 14 points, while Jonathan Tabu added 13 points for the winners. Arvin Slagter (192-G-85, agency: Court Side) notched 20 points for Holland. Okapi Aalstar have extended the contract with John Tofi (203-F/C-84, college: UTEP). The Samoan centre will enter his second straight season with the team. This current season John Tofi notched 12.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game in the EuroChallenge. He also tallies 12.4 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists per appearance in the Ethias League. Previously John Tofi played for Leuven Bears and Pepinster. He was named into All-Belgian League 2nd Team in 2011. [read more]

The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 95-84. Okapi Aalstar made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Base Oostende helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Ryan Thompson (198-89, college: Rider) fired 28 points for the winners. His fellow American import Derek Raivio (190-84, college: Gonzaga) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 assists. Four Okapi Aalstar players scored in double figures. American guard Matt Lojeski (198-85, college: Hawaii) produced 32 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and Serbian-Montenegrin guard Dusan Djordjevic (195-83, agency: Beo Basket) added 17 points respectively for lost side.
