It's still too early stage of the Regular Season in Ethias League, but even now we can clearly see the differece between stronger teams and outsiders.

The biggest surprise of round 5 was guest Base Oostende's (3-2) road victory over 4th placed Antwerp Giants (2-3) 74-61 on Saturday evening. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Base Oostende. Antwerp Giants managed to win fourth quarter 15-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 27 personal fouls committed by Antwerp Giants helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard Matt Lojeski (198-85, college: Hawaii) who scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Brent Wright (203-78, college: Florida) chipped in 7 points and 10 rebounds. Naturalized American forward Ralph Biggs (199-76, college: Towson, agency: Court Side) produced 14 points and 5 steals for the hosts. Antwerp Giants' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Antwerp Giants at the other side dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Base Oostende is looking forward to face league's second-placed Belfius Mons-Hainaut in Quaregnon in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Antwerp Giants will play at home against Leuven Bears (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Another exciting game was between first ranked Okapi Aalstar and second-ranked Liege Basket where Okapi Aalstar (4-1) beat Liege Basket (3-2) on the road 70-60.
