There were just 6 rounds played in Regular Season of Ethias League and we can clearly see which teams will fight for top positions and which will try to avoid bottom places.
The most exciting game of round 6 in the Ethias League took place in Charleroi. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of one of their biggest challengers Liege Basket (3-3) to fifth ranked Spirou Charleroi (4-2) 74-72 on Friday evening. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 2 points. 27 personal fouls committed by Liege Basket helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Okapi Aalstar have extended the contract with John Tofi (203-F/C-84, college: UTEP). The Samoan centre will enter his second straight season with the team. This current season John Tofi notched 12.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game in the EuroChallenge. He also tallies 12.4 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists per appearance in the Ethias League. Previously John Tofi played for Leuven Bears and Pepinster. He was named into All-Belgian League 2nd Team in 2011. [read more]
