Unics registered the second straight win at the start of EuroCup regular season. They knocked down Oostende in Kazan tonight. Ian Vougioukas (212-C/F-85, college: St.Louis) stepped up with 20 points to lead the hosts. Oostende fell at 1-1 record after the loss.
Unics stormed into the game. They accounted for a 27:15 lead after ten minutes. the hosts maintained the lead throughout the second quarter. Unics accumulated a 48:34 halftime advantage. The Kazan team kept Oostende at bay throughout the third quarter. The Russian powerhouse entered the final period up by 18 points 70:52. Oostende narrowed the deficit in the final term but could not challenge the deficit. Kostas Kaimakoglou (206-C/F-83) delivered 18 points, Vladimir Veremeenko (208-F-84) added 14 points for Unics. Brent Wright (203-F/C-78, college: Florida) answered with 15 points for Oostende. Dusan Katnic (193-G-89, agency: Beo Basket) and Dusan Djordjevic (195-G-83, agency: Beo Basket) netted 11 points each in the loss.

Brussels - Aalstar 75-66 Brussels held off Aalstar to force the decisive fifth game in the series. The game without a history. John Tofi extends deal with Aalstar - May 25, 2016

Aalstar and John Tofi(203-C/F-84, college: UTEP, agency: Pensack Sports) agreed on terms of contract renewal. The centre has penned a new two-year deal with the team. John Tofi tallied 15.7 points, 7.2 rebounds per game last season. John Tofi has been playing for Aalstar since 2012. Previously he had stints with Leuven and Pepinster.   [read more]
