Belgian Division I round 10 best performance: Sofie Hendrickx - Dec 4, 2012

International power forward Sofie Hendrickx (187-PF-86) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Kangoeroes-B., receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 26-year old player had a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds, while her team edged out Point Chaud (#5, 6-4) 80-76. Kangoeroes-B. maintains the 2nd position in Belgian Division I. Kangoeroes-B. has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 9-1. It's Hendrickx's second year at Kangoeroes-B. and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Sofie Hendrickx has solid league stats. She is in league's top in rebounds (7th best: 7.9rpg).

The second best player in last round's games was 23-year old Bulgarian Stefka Miteva (190-C-89) of Blue Cats. Miteva had a very good evening with a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds. It was enough for Blue Cats to edge slightly higher-ranked Jeugd Gentson (2-8) 53-52. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Blue Cats keeps 11th position. 8 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Blue Cats managed to get this year. Miteva is a newcomer at Blue Cats and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third on the list of top players last round was Heleen Adams (173-SF-94) of Jeugd Gentson (#9). Adams scored 20 points and passed four assists. Despite Adams' great performance Jeugd Gentson lost 52-53 to Blue Cats (2-8). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. Jeugd Gentson can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-8 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Adams she does not play for a better team. But maybe if she did, her season stats would not be that high. Adams has a very solid season. In 9 games in Belgium she scored 12.9ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Noemie Mayombo (170-PG-91) of Point Chaud - 23 points, 3 rebounds and 7 assists
5. Sarah Dochez (181-F-89) of Castors Braine - 14 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Djenebou Sissoko (185-F/C-82) of Belfius Namur - 17 points and 6 rebounds
7. Angcle Boucquey (175-F-81) of Tulikivi Deerlijk - 14 points and 7 rebounds
8. Erica Davis (191-C-85) of Point Chaud - 16 points and 9 rebounds
9. Valerie Labbe (181-G/F-88) of Castors Braine - 11 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Celia Menendez (188-C-90) of Spirou Monceau - 15 points and 7 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
