Ethias League is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 14 rounds left.

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Oostende. First ranked Base Oostende faced 3rd ranked Okapi Aalstar. Host Base Oostende (10-4) defeated guests from Aalst (8-6) 73-63. Base Oostende outrebounded Okapi Aalstar 43-30 including 33 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Matt Lojeski (198-85, college: Hawaii) who scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import power forward Brent Wright (203-78, college: Florida) chipped in 12 points and 11 rebounds. The former international forward Thomas Dreesen (199-88, agency: Court Side) produced 19 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Base Oostende have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 10-4 record. Okapi Aalstar at the other side keeps the third place with six games lost. Base Oostende are looking forward to face bottom-ranked VOO Verviers-Pepinster (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Okapi Aalstar will play against Spirou Charleroi (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Antwerp was also worth to mention about. 5th ranked Liege Basket (6-8) played at the court of sixth ranked Antwerp Giants (7-7). Antwerp Giants managed to secure a 7-point victory 83-76. The former international guard Roel Moors (190-78) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 4 assists (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!). Timothy Black contributed with 16 points for the winners. International forward Wen Boss Mukubu (198-83, college: UAB, agency: SportsTalent) replied with 21 points and 7 rebounds for Liege Basket. Antwerp Giants moved-up to fifth place. Liege Basket at the other side dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. Antwerp Giants will play against league's second-placed Belfius Mons-Hainaut in Quaregnon in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Liege Basket will play on the road against Leuven Bears (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Verviers was also quite interesting. Second ranked Belfius Mons-Hainaut (9-5) played at the court of 8th ranked VOO Verviers-Pepinster (3-10). Belfius Mons-Hainaut defeated VOO Verviers-Pepinster 80-67 on Saturday. The game was dominated by American players. Quincy Taylor scored 15 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners. Jeremy Green responded with 26 points. VOO Verviers-Pepinster's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Belfius Mons-Hainaut maintains second position with 9-5 record behind leader Oostende. Loser VOO Verviers-Pepinster stay at the bottom place with ten games lost. Belfius Mons-Hainaut will meet Antwerp Giants (#5) on the road in the next round. VOO Verviers-Pepinster will play against the league's leader Base Oostende and hope to secure a win.



Antwerp - Liege 83-76

The game in Antwerp was also worth to mention about. 5th ranked Liege Basket (6-8) played at the court of sixth ranked Antwerp Giants (7-7). Antwerp Giants managed to secure a 7-point victory 83-76. It looked good early as Liege Basket took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Antwerp Giants had a 27-17 second period charge getting the lead and Liege Basket was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 76-83. Liege Basket was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international guard Roel Moors (190-78) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 4 assists (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!). American point guard Timothy Black (178-81, college: Barton, NC, agency: Limelight Hoops) contributed with 16 points for the winners. International forward Wen Boss Mukubu (198-83, college: UAB, agency: SportsTalent) replied with 21 points and 7 rebounds and international point guard Geoffrey Hockins (188-88) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Liege Basket. Antwerp Giants moved-up to fifth place. Liege Basket at the other side dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. Antwerp Giants will play against league's second-placed Belfius Mons-Hainaut in Quaregnon in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. The game in Verviers was also quite interesting. Second ranked Belfius Mons-Hainaut (9-5) played at the court of 8th ranked VOO Verviers-Pepinster (3-10). Belfius Mons-Hainaut defeated VOO Verviers-Pepinster 80-67 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 45-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Belfius Mons-Hainaut made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Quincy Taylor (196-82, college: UAB) scored 15 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and center Brian Qvale (210-88, college: Montana) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Five Belfius Mons-Hainaut players scored in double figures. Guard Jeremy Green (193-90, college: Stanford) responded with 26 points and point guard Jerime Anderson (187-89, college: UCLA) scored 8 points and 5 assists. Versus BC Telenet Oostende won the team of coach Roel Moors with 81-89 (50-45) After 2007 fort the Port of Antwerp Giants the second Supercup in club history.
