   #1. This week's number one is an international point guard Jonathan Tabu (190-85, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian SerieA. He could not help one of league's weakest teams Cantu (11-6) in their last game. Despite Tabu's good performance Cantu lost 60-65 at home to the higher-ranked (#4) Lottomatica Roma. He had a double-double by scoring 12 points and getting the same number of rebounds. Tabu also added 8 assists in 32 minutes on the court. Tabu has relatively good stats this year: 10.8ppg, 4.6rpg, 4.2apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 47.5%, 3FGP: 44.6% and FT: 87.1% in the 17 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Belgian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international point guard Sam Van Rossom (188-86, currently plays in Spain). He was not able to help CAI Zaragoza (11-8) in their game against Caja Laboral (16-3) in the Spanish ACB. Van Rossom scored 7 points. CAI Zaragoza was edged 74-73 on the road by the second-ranked Caja Laboral. This season Van Rossom averages: 9.1ppg, 3.5rpg, 3.0apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 55.4%(31-56), 3FGP: 42.6% and FT: 85.2%. He is in the roster of the Belgian senior national team.

   #3. The Belgian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward Axel Hervelle (205-83, currently plays in Eurocup). Hervelle managed to help Gescrap Bizkaia Bilbao Basket in a victory against the leader Valencia Basket (2-1) 91-76 in the Eurocup last Wednesday. He scored only 4 points in 18 minutes. Gescrap Bizkaia Bilbao Basket (1-2) is placed fourth in group J. There are only three games left until the end of the Eurocup Top 16. So now every game will be critical. This year Hervelle's overall stats are: 7.4ppg, 6.3rpg, 2.1apg, 1.4spg, 2FGP: 48.1%, 3FGP: 27.3% and FT: 66.7% in the nine games. He is also a member of the Belgian senior national team.

   #4. Center Aleksander Lichodzijewski (202-84, currently plays in Poland) contributed to Polpharma's victory against the closely-ranked Kotwica (5-13) 68-58 in the Polish TBL on Monday night. Lichodzijewski scored 9 points, had 7 rebounds and dished 6 assists. SKS Polpharma-Pakmet Starogard Gd. (8-10) is placed eighth in the TBL. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. It's Lichodzijewski's first season with the team. His total stats this year are: 8.6ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.1apg. Lichodzijewski has a dual citizenship: Belgian and Polish. He used to play for the Belgian national team back in 2008.

   #5. Former U20 international swingman Gael Hulsen (193-90, agency: LBM Management, currently plays in United Kingdom), who plays in the British BBL was not able to secure a victory for the league outsider Liverpool Mersey Tigers (0-19) in their last game on Friday. Despite his very good performance the bottom-ranked Liverpool Mersey Tigers was crushed 121-58 in Newcastle by the leading Eagles. Hulsen was the top scorer with 17 points. He also added 3 assists. This season Hulsen has relatively solid stats: 11.6ppg, 1.9rpg, 3.2apg and 1.1spg. He used to play for the Belgian U20 national team four years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Belgian passport but never been selected to any of Belgian national teams:

   #1. Tyler Haws (196-G, currently plays college basketball in the States) led BYU to an easy victory against the University of Portland (1-6) 85-67 in the NCAA last Saturday. Haws scored 19 points and had 3 steals. The Brigham Young University has a solid 6-2 conference record this season. It's Haws' fourth year with the team. This year he has relatively solid stats: 10.8ppg, 4.6rpg, 4.2apg and 1.2spg.

   #2. Experienced Ryan Hoover (187-PG-74, agency: SportsTalent, college: Notre Dame, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian Lega2 (second division) could not help Fileni BPA Jesi (6-10) in their last game. Despite Hoover's very good performance Fileni BPA Jesi lost in an overtime 93-99 on the road to the much higher-ranked (#5) C.de Latte BRE. He was the second best scorer with 20 points. Hoover also added 5 assists and 3 steals in 35 minutes. It was Fileni BPA Jesi's third consecutive loss in a row. This year Hoover has relatively solid stats: 12.1ppg, 3.9rpg, 3.0apg and 2.0spg in the 16 games he played so far. He is a naturalized American. Strangely Hoover has never played in Belgium.

   #3. Ronrico White (190-PG-92, currently studies in the States), who plays in the NCAA was not able to help the Chattanooga (3-5) in their last game. Despite White's very good performance the Chattanooga (#6) lost 69-77 in Greensboro, NC to the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. He scored 15 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 33 minutes. It was Chattanooga's third consecutive loss in a row. This year White's total stats are: 8.6ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.1apg in the 14 games. He is a naturalized American. Strangely White has never played in Belgium.

   #4. Ruphin Tshiabu Kayembe (200-F-92, currently plays in Slovenia) managed to help KK Maribor Messer in a victory against the seventh-ranked LTHcast Mercator (5-8) 84-73 in the Slovenian Telemach League on Saturday night. Tshiabu Kayembe recorded only 2 points in 6 minutes on the court. KK Maribor Messer (10-3) is placed third in the Telemach League. This year Tshiabu Kayembe's total stats are: 3.0ppg and 2.3rpg in the four games. He has a dual citizenship: DR Congolese and Belgian.

   #5. Julien Rahier (193-G-83, currently plays in Switzerland) led Starwings to a victory against the league outsider SAM Massagno (3-13) 83-74 in the Swiss LNA in Saturday night's game. Rahier recorded 15 points. Starwings Basket Regio Basel (4-12) is placed eighth in the LNA. It was his team's first victory after three consecutive loses. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Rahier's total stats this season are: 9.0ppg, 2.0rpg and 1.8apg.

   #6. Douglas Tshomba (201-F-83, college: Tusculum, currently plays in France) contributed to a JA Vichy's victory against the seventh-ranked La Rochelle 68-58 in the French NM1 (third division) last Saturday. He scored 7 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 29 minutes. Tshomba has reliable stats this year: 11.7ppg, 2.8rpg, 2.0apg and 1.1spg in the 11 games.

Badji's double-double lands him Player of the Week award - 5 days ago
24-year old power forward Pape Badji (208-F/C-92) had a very impressive game in the last round for Kangoeroes and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 25. He had a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Limburg United (#6, 12-13) 98-91. Kangoeroes maintains the 4th position in Belgian league.
