The round 16 was rather boring as all games ended with very predictable results.

Division I top team - Kangoeroes-B. (14-1) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat seventh ranked Basket Groot (6-9) in Boom 81-71. Kangoeroes-B. forced 23 Basket Groot turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Vreny Van Driel (175-88) who helped to win the game recording 22 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). International Sofie Hendrickx (187-86) contributed with 14 points for the winners. The former international point guard Katrien Vercauteren (169-84) replied with 17 points and 4 assists for Basket Groot. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kangoeroes-B. have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 14-1 record. Basket Groot lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with nine games lost. Kangoeroes-B. are looking forward to face R.Spirou Monceau (#8) in Charleroi in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Basket Groot will have a break next round.
The game between fifth ranked Sint Kateline Waver (10-5) and 8th ranked R.Spirou Monceau (5-10) in Sint Katelijne ended with biggest points difference. Sint Kateline Waver outscored guests from Charleroi 80-61. Sint Kateline Waver have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Point Chaud. R.Spirou Monceau lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Sint Kateline Waver will play against Jeugd Gentson (#10) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. R.Spirou Monceau will play against the league's leader Kangoeroes-B. in Boom and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Other games in round 16 were not that significant. Waregem beat Jeugd Gentson on the road 70-61. Point Chaud won against Tulikivi Deerlijk on its own court 74-59. Castors Braine managed to outperform Blue Cats in a road game 81-68. Bottom-ranked Houthalen recorded a loss to Belfius Namur at home 63-75.
The most impressive performance of 16th round was 24 points and 11 rebounds by Erica Davis of Point Chaud.



Jeugd Gentson - Waregem 61-70

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Declercq Stortbeton (12-3) beat on the road 10th ranked Jeugd Gentson (4-12) 70-61. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Julie Vanloo (168-93) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 6 rebounds and the former international Jana Raman (187-91) who added 13 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Declercq Stortbeton players scored in double figures. At the losing side Heleen Adams (173-94) responded with 16 points and forward Lynn Delvaux (182-93) scored 12 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Declercq Stortbeton maintains third position with 12-3 record having just two points less than leader Kangoeroes-B. Jeugd Gentson at the other side keeps the tenth place with 12 games lost. Declercq Stortbeton will play against Point Chaud (#5) in Sprimont in the next round. Jeugd Gentson will play at home against Sint Kateline Waver (#4) in Sint Katelijne and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Very expected game when 9th ranked Tulikivi (4-11) lost to fifth ranked Point Chaud (10-5) in Sprimont 59-74. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Erica Davis (191-85, college: Yale, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and international point guard Noemie Mayombo (170-91, agency: LBM Management) who added 16 points and 4 steals during the contest. At the losing side the former international forward Angcle Boucquey (175-81) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and the former international center Tamara Van Respaille (186-77) scored 4 points and 8 rebounds. Tulikivi's coach rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. Point Chaud have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Sint Katelijne. Tulikivi at the other side keeps the ninth position with 11 games lost. Point Chaud will play against higher ranked Declercq Stortbeton (#3) in Waregem in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Tulikivi will play at home against Houthalen (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
