The game between third ranked Declercq Stortbeton (12-4) and sixth ranked Castors Braine (10-7) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Declercq Stortbeton was defeated by Castors Braine in Braine 69-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Declercq Stortbeton. American guard Mia Fisher (175-82, college: UCSB) orchestrated the victory by scoring 32 points (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). French swingman Valerie Labbe (181-88) contributed with 11 points and 4 assists for the winners. Castors Braine's coach Jean Luc Cornia used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Serbian forward Maja Vucurovic (188-91) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 15 rebounds for Declercq Stortbeton. Castors Braine have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 10-7 record. Declercq Stortbeton at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. Castors Braine are looking forward to face Basket Groot (#7) in Willebroek in the next round. Declercq Stortbeton will play at home against Point Chaud (#5) in Sprimont and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Division I top team - Kangoeroes-B. (15-1) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat eighth ranked R.Spirou Monceau (5-11) in Boom 76-67. The former international center Dana Boonen (195-79, college: Rutgers) stepped up and scored 10 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Jasmina Rosseel chipped in 17 points. Kangoeroes-B.'s coach Sven Van Camp allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Senegalese forward Lycka Sy (185-88) responded with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Kangoeroes-B. have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 15-1 record. R.Spirou Monceau lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Tulikivi Deerlijk. Kangoeroes-B. will play against league's second-placed Belfius Namur on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. R.Spirou Monceau will play against Blue Cats (#11) in Ieper and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Willebroek was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Point Chaud (11-5) played at the court of 7th ranked Basket Groot (6-10). Point Chaud defeated Basket Groot 83-69 on Sunday. Erica Davis nailed a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side. Inge Op De Beeck came up with 23 points for Basket Groot in the defeat. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Point Chaud. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Sint Katelijne. Basket Groot lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with ten games lost. Point Chaud will meet higher ranked Declercq Stortbeton (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Basket Groot will play against Castors Braine (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The best player for the winners was Julie Wojta who scored 20 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Belfius Namur's coach Julian Alman Martinez felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Belfius Namur. They maintain second place with 14-2 record behind leader Kangoeroes-B. Blue Cats lost their sixth game in a row. Defending champion keep the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Belfius Namur's next round opponent will be league's leader Kangoeroes-B. in Boom and it will be for sure the game of the week. Blue Cats will play on the road against R.Spirou Monceau (#9) in Charleroi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 17 bottom-ranked Houthalen was beaten by Tulikivi Deerlijk on the road 62-56. Jeugd Gentson was destroyed by Sint Katelijne on its own court 57-76.

Willebroek - Point Chaud 69-83
