Mia Fisher
30-year old guard Mia Fisher (175-G-82) put on an amazing game in the last round for Castors Braine and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 17.
She had the game-high 32 points adding two rebounds and three assists for Castors Braine in her team's victory, helping them to beat Waregem (#3, 12-4) 79-69. Castors Braine maintains the 6th position in Belgian Division I. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Castors Braine will need more victories to improve their 10-7 record. Fisher turned to be Castors Braine's top player in her first season with the team. Univ. of California-Santa Barbara graduate has very impressive stats this year. Fisher is in league's top in points (3rd best: 18.0ppg), assists (2nd best: 3.4apg) and averages solid 2.5spg and 62.2% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Julie Wojta (183-G/F-89, agency: LBM Management) of league's second-best Belfius Namur. She is American swingman in her first season at Belfius Namur. In the last game Wojta recorded impressive 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course she lead Belfius Namur to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Blue Cats (#11, 2-14) 74-53. Belfius Namur's second position in the standings has not changed. Her team lost just two games this season, while they won 14 matches. Wojta is a newcomer at Belfius Namur and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.7ppg (#7). She also registered 10.9 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to center Erica Davis (191-C-85, agency: LBM Management) of Point Chaud (#5). Davis scored 26 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Point Chaud, leading her team to a 83-69 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Willebroek (#7, 6-10). Point Chaud needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 11 victories and 5 lost games. Davis has a great season in Belgium. After 16 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.2ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 12.1rpg (#1 in league).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Laurence Van Malderen (192-C-81) of Belfius Namur - 17 points and 6 rebounds
5. Tamara Van Respaille (186-C-77) of Tulikivi Deerlijk - 10 points and 10 rebounds
6. Celia Menendez (188-C-90) of Spirou Monceau - 13 points and 9 rebounds
7. Marjorie Carpreaux (165-PG-87) of Houthalen - 15 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Hind Ben Abdelkader (170-PG-95) of Sint Katelijne - 24 points
9. Djenebou Sissoko (185-F/C-82) of Belfius Namur - 16 points and 10 rebounds
10. Stefka Miteva (190-C-89) of Blue Cats - 10 points and 6 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
